Tea Bag Tanning!? Really?

***UPDATE***  See Below!

An all natural spray-tanning / self-tanning solution using black tea?  You might think this is one of those fake tan jokes, but I am serious! I’ve heard of a black tea tan for a while and would love to hear from anyone who has any homemade self tanner reviews. This tea bag tanning recipe below lists step by step instructions for brewing up the perfect “non DHA” self-tanning tea tan in a bottle!

1.  Take 10 black tea bags (the tea brand does not matter) and boil in hot water.

2.  Let the tea bags sit in the water for about 10-15 minutes steeping.

3.  Remove the tea bags and then let the tea cool to room temperature or less!  It may be refreshing to put it in the fridge for a bit, especially in the hot summer months!

4.  Pour into a spray bottle and spray your skin.  Air dry and reapply if you want a deeper, darker color.

5.  Remember this is just a temporary color and will come off as soon as you shower or come in contact with water!  It is not a self-tanner so it’s affects are just temporary!

UPDATE!!!  UPDATE!!!

Tea Bag Tan

Aside from this recipe, I also have amazing news! I have finally launched TEA TAN GLOW with my line, Beautisol using black tea, red tea and green tea so you won’t have to brew your own!!   It  does not contain any DHA (the active ingredient in self-tanners) so it is a temporary tan that you just wash off!  Tea is a powerful anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory so it is a safe, natural alternative to self-tanning and spray tanning as I know a lot of you out there are allergic to DHA!

Happy “Tea Bag Tanning” everyone!
